Glatz's Black Angus Sustainability Bull Sale for 2012 is on Friday, February 10, starting at 4 pm.

In our 23rd year of breeding registered beef cattle we remain dedicated to producing the specific type of Angus for which our program is recognized.

Cattle with more frame size, more length, more natural thickness, combined in a fertile, structurally sound and docile package. We blend a traditional breeding philosophy with a modern management system.

In this day and age the art of cattle breeding is too often substituted with computer generated EBV sorts to source genetics and make breeding decisions. That is not breeding, but simple mathematics.

Performance recording is an essential tool for any seedstock program. The ability to continually improve and breed a practical whilst sustainable beef animal must not be compromised.

We must congratulate our dedicated clients for the continued success and recognition they now expect when utilizing Glatz's Black Angus genetics. Glatz's Black Angus bred females continue to attract aggressive competition in the market place. A large Auctions Plus consignment of weaner heifers realized another Australian Record price of $1000/hd, averaging $993.

The results achieved with Glatz's Black Angus sired steers throughout numerous facets of our southern beef industry have been impressive. Large scale grass finishers are making every effort to procure as many Glatz's Black Angus bred cattle as possible through weaner sales, Auctions Plus and on farm transactions. Their enthusiasm to secure our clients cattle is purely driven by profitability and consistency.

Results show that our clients are producing an article that is reaching target weight earlier, within an ideal fat range and yielding higher than their contempories. The incidence of dark cutting remains at a minimum due to the disposition and workability of Glatz's Black Angus sired cattle.

Numerous high profile Angus stud herds throughout Australia are achieving fantastic results by utilizing Glatz's Black Angus genetics in their own successful bull breeding programs. These progeny are consistently featuring as the top end sires offered in their respective on property bull sales.

The product of our business is underpinned by the uncompromised strength of our cow herd. We place significant emphasis on our cows being maternally strong and sound structured for a longer and more productive life span; in comparison to many of today's beef breeders. We focus on whole herd accountability rather than being reliant on a small group of embryo donor females.

This year's sale bulls represent an extremely high percentage of the male calves weaned in 2011. Such a high strike rate is testament to the reliability of our hard working cow herd. Reliability and consistency are the catalyst for beef to increase world wide market share, in competition with other available protein sources. Reliability and consistency needs to be instigated from a grass roots level; being your genetic supplier.

A significant portion of this year's catalogue are sons of self generated sires along with the most reliable and exclusive sires from Australia and Canada. The 2012 sale bulls have been grass prepared, Ear Notch Tested BVDV PI Negative, Pestigard vaccinated, Vibrovax vaccinated, 7in1 vaccinated and are offered with Docility STA R Ratings, Pfizer Star Accreditation and are delivered free with a comprehensive 12 month guarantee.

Inspections are welcome at the SA Stud Beef Field Days, from 1pm on Sale Day or at any other time by appointment.
